Complaints Policy

Introduction

Tanya Kozarski is committed to offering a high-quality service through her private practice, Tanya K Counselling. As such, she is a registered member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and adheres to their Code of Ethical Practice, which guides her work and ensures she maintains high professional standards.

Tanya Kozarski takes complaints seriously and this policy outlines the procedures for handling complaints related to her private practice.

Definitions

Complaint

A complaint is any expression of dissatisfaction or concern about the content, delivery or administration of the counselling service she provides.  

Complainant

An individual making a complaint regarding the service received from her.

Making a Complaint

In the first instance, please email your complaint to Tanya Kozarski at tanyak@tanyakcounselling.co.uk, outlining the nature of the complaint, relevant dates and any supporting evidence or documentation.

You can also raise your concerns with her professional body, NCPS at conduct@ncps.com. Her membership number is NCPS152.

Complaint Handling Procedure

  • She will acknowledge your email within 48 hours and provide an estimated timeframe for resolving the complaint.
  • She will investigate your complaint thoroughly, gathering relevant information.
  • She will aim to resolve your complaint within 7 working days from receipt. Please note more complex complaints may require additional time for investigation and resolution – she will keep you updated on the progress and notified of the outcome once a resolution has been reached.

Confidentiality will be respected throughout the process, and information will only be shared where absolutely necessary.

Outcomes

If your complaint is upheld, she will take steps to address the issue to prevent it from happening again.

If the complaint isn’t upheld, she will provide a clear explanation of the decision.

Learning and Improvement

She will use feedback to identify areas of improvement in her private practice and where necessary, make changes to policies, procedures and delivery of her services.

This policy is reviewed every year to make sure it stays relevant and effective.
